hello all
i bought a new in the box 30-1172-1 blue comet. its about 2000 or 2001 model.
it is dead to the world.
i have taken it apart and looked very closely and i cant find anything wrong.
it wont light up , make a sound or nothing.
just sits there.
it looks like it has not been run, i checked the battery, installed a known good battery and nothing so far.
i did test the capacitors and either im testing them wrong or my meter isnt right.
they all test out to either way more or way less than what there rated at.
like the 330 micro ferad caps, they test either low or high and not even close. (still installed)
what about the transistor at the bottom of the train, it has a red , yellow, and black wire going to the main brd, could it be bad?
i checked voltage to the electric motor while it was on the track and it had about 3 volts to it? im not sure but i think thats what it had, it is picking up power off of the track.
could i swap out parts from my j class 0-27 steamer to tell whats wrong?
any body with some suggestions?
ive had alot of good guys on here helping me out when i need it.
so if you feel like chiming in feel free.
im not good at photos but i can try.
