Hi there

I lived in Rome ,NY in the mid to late 60's.  My dad was stationed at the Air Force base there .

any how my dad had friends at a bar/restaurant/hotel there.  The owners were Angie & Dominic if my memory serves me correctly .  A lot customers from there went to see a last run of a steam engine through town .  We watched from below a hill & bridge .   I just remember the the steam engine was black . I do not remember the RR name .  My guess most of these years it was a NYC or Nickel Plate engine.

If any one here ! was there that day ! please let me know what Rail Road it was & class of steam engine it was !  There were hundreds of people there that day .  The bridge went over a two car wide road if that helps.  If some one has a picture of it , please share !

Thanks in advance !

I believe in 1967 was the year or 1968. we left in later 68 I believe to go to New Hampshire after he retired .
