Schumann,

If you want to invest in something else and not waste your hard earned money, I recommend the OGR Video Guide to DCS, if you are a visual type person this is a great educational video.  Not quite the full coverage of Barry's book, but a fantastic educational DCS video in itself.  Forget about the manual.

These 2 are all you will ever need for DCS until the DCS is updated.

Here's the latest manual from the MTH site reformatted to full 8.5x11 format.  If you print this, it'll be better than the manual for older eyes, everything will be bigger.  If your printer supports it, you can print it double-sided and make it less bulky.

I missed where we were not kind...

Barry,

Yes the video is older and I wish Rich would up date it, however it shows visually how to set up the DCS system from the very beginning, this education will never really go out of date, all the other up grades can be learned as the owner goes along & gains more experience, the over all information is still great stuff and timeless beginner set up information, in a visual format.  Still well worth the cost of ownership.

For this reason I recommend owning and using both your DCS O Gauge Companion book and the OGR Video Guide to DCS.  Both are great educational information.

The video is probably about 7 or 8 years old.

I know that is correct, but they were looking for easy, I just thought it would be easier to watch than read? An updated video with the latest features would be nice.
