Now that the Lake and Bait Shack are in the rear-view mirror it's time for a new project.

The  Carl's Corner Engine House and Machine Shop

This will be made with the Atlas 2 stall kit with a scratch built Machine shop added on the back.

These will have completely detailed interiors.I'm thinking the shed will be circa 1900 with a stone foundation and the shop added on in the 1930s will have a concrete foundation. The piece of real-estate I have planned for this project has a bit of an awkward shape so it took a few hours on the drawing board to come up with this plan. The shop ends up being about a scale 1400 square feet.

Thanks guys.

Checked out your site Peter excellent club layout.Kudos to all the gang over there.

Replaced the drawings above with a newer set.I had some clearance problems by the track and wasn't happy with the roof line.

I had to replace the WS roadbed with a solid 1/4 shim to get a nice smooth work surface.

I'll use 3/16 x 1/4 balsa strips to put a wood floor throughout this structure.

Had to bevel the underside of the floor boards between the rails to clear the nail plates on the ties.

Stained and glued in place.

Need to get the stone foundation for the Engine House in place before I do the rest of the floor.
