Wow - wonderful. The fire scene is amazing. I could feel the cold with the snow scenes. I love the circus and circus posters.

Very nicely done. Thank you so much for visiting Marty and Dottie and sharing your photos.
Marty and Dotty:
Thanks for postings pics and video. Really fun to see.
I can see the look in your face Marty with the hidden layout - like a kid in a candy store.
I recall Phil's layout being featured in a Classic Toy Trains story way back in the very late 1980s and I literally oozed with jealousy as I viewed the photo spread of his magnificent handiwork. After viewing this thread I'm oozing even more. Boy, I wish I possessed that kind of talent.
Now, that's a LAYOUT! Great pictures Marty.
Wonderful photos of a great layout.
Ellen and I stopped by Phil's home today as part of our pre-convention planning. Thanks to Phil for being such a gracious host! Marty's wonderful photos and Dotty's videos just whet your appetite to see the layout in person. The detail, animations and scenery are amazing.
Marty, thanks for sharing these wonderful pics!!!
Phil is truly a "hi-rail" pioneer in our wonderful hobby. And your pics bring back terrific memories of seeing Phil's layout in the early pages of CTT back in the 1980's, as well as the TM videos, and even a TM hardback book if memory serves me correctly.
Glad to see all is well with Phil's magnificent railroad empire.
David
That's a really nice layout with a wide variety of things. I also just love hand built items and in particular the overhead catenary system.
Phil 'great layout
Interesting layout. Thanks for posting it.
Looking at the pictures, etc. around Phil Klopp's layout, we spotted a picture of Phil's father in front of a PRR engine. I could make out the number on it, so I got on my trusty computer and looked it up on the PRR roster.
Road # - 5894

Phil says he wasn't so much a railroad guy, just tolerant of his son's obsession.
Dottie: That post means a lot to me. If my dad could ever have imagined his photo being on a world wide forum and a forum made up of great folks like us train guys and gals. It really is magic where todays technology has taken us and what our trains can do today. And my mom would be laughing all the way. She says Reading RR soot got on my diapers early on and caused all of this!!! I know dad would enjoy coming back! Leave for york soon. Phil
WOW! All I can say is WOW!!!! Thanks MARTY & DOTTY for posting. Well done.
That picture of my dad was taken on a ralifan trip sponsored by the Lancaster Pa chapter of NRHS sometime in the early 1960's. We rode West over the PRR to Altoona and Horseshoe Curve. At the top of the grade (Cresson Pa) we reversed direction and went down over a different route which included the Muleshoe Curve (now gone) and down into Holidaysburg. There we toured the huge PRR Samuel Rae car shops and I snapped the photo. The E8's and our train left there and returned to Lancaster. Did any other forum members out there take that trip? Phil
Thanks to you all, great layout and pictures. Nice image of his dad there. Notice how formal the dress was? Now you see folks out in clothes our parents and grandparents would have used for yard work!
Have admired his layout building for years. Thanks for the photos!Y
Thanks to Marty, Dottie, and all of you for all the kind complements. This is a labor of love as all here know and a wonderful addiction to have!!! There should have been a photo of Marty sitting at my repair bench tinkering with one of my engines as part of his visit. This guy is always giving his time energy to our hobby! He never stops! Any forum members can call me when in the area and come for a visit. Phil
Thanks for the inspiration Phil. I used that old TM video of yours from years back as a reference idea for my pike!
I am like a lot of the previous responders, Phill Klopp is a Model Railroading Icon just like Marty Fitzhenry is. You Both have Amazing Layouts and You Both Contribute Enormously To the best Hobby in the World, MODEL RAILROADING....Thanks for the Pictures and most of all The Memories. Both of your Layouts, The Videos, have Inspired many thousands of model train enthusiast. So, let's see some Repeat Performances, I am ready.
Thanks Larry. I have had several emails asking for some new pictures of my layout. I will try to get it done soon. I hope to see many members this summer when LCCA is in Boston.
