Here is a little awning work.  I think I might go with red and off white stripes.  I might also try some hand lettering.

Nice work, and a good awning.  My mind insists on picturing it in a solid dark green, but red with off white strips might work, too.

Your awning work is really nice and has given me ideas of trying fabric again. In the recent past, I have been working with paper as it gives me the stripe pattern I like, but in the end, it still looks like paper.

Charlie,

I used tissue paper and matte medium. The key to getting the sags and fabric look is the frame work. Most would use brass. I use TIG welding rod. It is much cheaper and copper coated so it solders well.

Do you use a resistance or normal solder gun to do the frames?

I just use an iron.  I did the frame without glasses so the solder is a bit thick.
