Gentlemen,

A while back one of the OGR members started a thread on a great Portable Table Saw to alter track and make custom track pieces with, this Rockwell X2 Portable Saw is

especially good for making custom track pieces for FasTrack and Atlas Industrial Rail.

Lowes has the Rockwell X2 on sale for $99.00, if you are Vet you get the 10% discount and the Cast Drops to $89.00.  A fantastic purchase price for the X2 and they have them in stock at the Monroeville, Pa store.

A great Christmas gift for the O Gauge hobbiest!

I was looking at something along the lines of this for my Gargraves to use instead of the dremel. I just wonder if there is a mini style of a compound chop saw that they sell with dremel like disc.

I have been using the dremel and was just thinking how much easier it would be with a compound saw that had like a 5 inch disc on it. That way the cuts would be even and you could cut all three rails at the same time.

I know they make the small saws but not sure if they make that type of disc.

Lancer,

The tool I have for doing that kind of exacting work is the Roto Zip RZ10, which is great for doing all kinds of dremel tool type work, and it has a ZM3 zip mate wheel tool for disc grinding that comes along with it also.  Once you own one of these RZ10 tools, you can throw away your dremel tool.   It's an Industrial tool and not cheap, but man it gets all the different exacting jobs done perfectly.  You can purchase all kinds of different drill bits and finishing tools for it.  It's another one of those tools an O gauge train nut, should really not due without.
