Had to stop in one of our state sponsored stores today (here in Virginia) to pick up a party gift and did a doubletake when I saw this layout.  Right there between the entrance and exit doors and between the cash registers for all to see.  I don't think a lot of kids would see this but it definitely was there for all to admire.

Kinda cool in an old-school sort of way.

Now this is cool. I love the simplicity of it. Just a real cool train operating on a small layout of track and all under a Christmas tree.

By the way, I have that same set. Except mine is the Red War Bonnet livery. The cars match my locomotive. Just a really simple way to say Merry Christmas with a train set old school style.

Carl...this layout was in our local ABC store (for those unfamiliar with state liquor laws in Virginia, ABC stores are the only places where you can buy liquor to take with you)

The train had a Canadian Mist logo on the engine, not sure where you get one.

Someone told me an early use of O-gauge trains was in store-windows to attract customers.  I don't know if whiskey barrels were every transported on rail but it would be too cool if the store owner modified an operating milk car to kick out whiskey barrels or beer kegs! I guess beer is technically not liquor but it would be amusing to see that engine pulling a variety of logo'd beer reefers.  And then there's the Coors Silver Bullet train.  The possibilities are, uhhh, intoxicating.
