It's not just the beautiful fall colors that are bursting forth up here but some handsome B&O Sharks made the rounds between the peaks of the western NC mountains earlier this evening at the club layout.

Many thanks to Alex M.

Awesome layout and the shark nose in the B&O colors looks great. I have a Weaver GP9 in B&O and love it - the B&O has a handsome color scheme. Is that a silver painted can modeled into a Sunoco tank? Very cool. I have considered doing something similar.

Thanks for the photos, Sam!  The Sharks are very handsome, and that's coming from a steam fan!  I agree the B&O color scheme is nice along with the landscape on the club layout.  I do like that caboose very much as well.

Could you give the name and location of the club.  Somewhere in North Carolina, I presume.  If I have seen it before, I have forgotten.

I love the legacy Sharks.  I think the B&O look particularly handsome.  I do mostly western railroads and have almost no B&O, but I had to have not just these lovely Sharks, but an entire train.  I think it is perhaps the most beautiful train I have.

the cars are MTH, the B unit WBB - its doesn't match perfectly although its not bad, but I will get the B-unit in the current catalog because it is a better match.  I run this a lot because it is so pretty: I didn't think i would ever have a B&O train on my layout.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys - I really appreciate you!

Lee, your post awhile back about your beautiful set inspired me to move on these when Alex offered them on the FS board.

Gary - Yes, the oil tank is an old bean can or similar. Member Harold created the 'refinery' from some old PW Lionel tank cars, plastic tubing, and other 'found objects'.

Mark,  Our club is the Smoky Mountain Model Railroaders located 25 miles west of Asheville NC in Waynesville. All are welcome to visit anytime. Our room is about 1000 sq feet with a long folded 3 line layout. Tuesday nights are work/meeting sessions.

Here's some closeups of the Units going forward and in reverse with the red running lights on the nose. The lighting effects are really nice. You can easily see the rakish nose angles and fine detail here too.

The Greyhound Station is functional now too in the urban area.

Great photos Sam.  I just bought a set of the New York Central Sharknoses at this October's York Meet.  They are really great looking engines.  I may have to make a visit to your club's layout sometime.  I am only a couple hours away in Knoxville, TN.  I'd love to check out the layout sometime and talk to some fellow O-Gauge modelers.  The only club I know of around here is an HO club.
