For many of us the weekend starts today, so let start Weekend Photo Fun early.

On my way back from York there was a bad accident on I-81. Since I wasn't moving I decided to take a detour and go around the mess. I drove right by a friend's street and called him to make a quick stop.

Earlier this summer I needed to pick up my son at the Harrisburg PA bus station. What I did not realize, is the bus station is also the train station! So while I was waiting for his bus to arrive, I wandered around and took some pictures. I found this O gauge display which operates with a button on the side.

Harriburg Train Station Display 5I also wandered outside a got some shots .I knew the NS Erie Heritage unit was in the area, but had no idea where it was going or when. So when it did show up, I was totally out of position. This is the best I could do in a hurry. The station is undergoing renovation and parts are off limits. The train shed is clearly from the Pennsy steam era ! The actual brick structure is not very impressive. More utilitarian.

Frank - Your scenery detail is stunning and what is even more stunning is your ability to bring your scenes to life.  Your scenes always convey the energy of life IMHO.  Thanks so much for sharing your work.  As I've said many times, your artistry inspires me.  Hope your Thanksgiving was great!!

When I read what you said here, yesterday, it added to the celebration of the day, and I had to read it to my wife, who thought, as did I, that your words were very gratifying. It's a nice thing to be informed that the work of my hands and imagination appeals to others, too. Thank you very much, Patrick W.

I noticed the photo above of a DART light rail train.  Here's a photo I took of our (Pittsburgh's) light rail subway the day the extension under the Allegheny River to the North Shore was dedicated in March of 2012.  The original section was opened July 4th, 1985 and I was there too.  We are incredibly lucky that rather than street running in downtown, our system operates in a subway.  Very unusual for a city our size to have a subway.

This is the result of Day 1.  Doesn't look like much but hauling all of that Homasote (11'x14' worth) and underlying blue board, and laying it down took a lot of energy!

Hi Walt, Is the layout going to be on the floor?

aubv: That rock wall is stunning. Which rock-wall paper did you use to create it?  Thanks for sharing this great idea.

Bob,
The wall is Noch embossed paper 57700 "Granit". The pit floor is Masonite.
The 62 is the Accessory number address for the SC-2 that runs the TT.
