Eric, thank you for taking the time to review the double track bridge from Menards. I was hoping they would re-issue this one, and they did. It looks good, although, I wish the plug-in was on the underside somehow, so the plug could be hidden easier.
I was wondering, does Menards or someone offer a 90 deg. plug-in, for use with the power supply? I think it wound be easier to hide the cord, say in a tube going downward, such as a drain pipe?
Again, great review!
Rusty
Another home run by Menards!
Thanks for the review Eric.
Menards offers unbeatable quality, customer service and price. I'll bet Lionel and MTH's executives are having a difficult time sleeping at night...
It is a terrific looking bridge at a great price. Should sell well.

Hi Rusty,
We offer a couple Plug & Play accessory packs. Aside from letting you power multiple buildings with one power supply, the 8-piece accessory kit also includes two extensions with 90 degree plugs. Here's a link.
I hope that helps!
Thank you,

Just visited Menards site but a search of the site didn't turn up the bridge. It's no where to be found. Is it sold out already?

Eric, thanks for the review of what should be a very popular product. With the straight cut ends, it also appears that one could string a few of these together if needed. One question; does this bridge have the height clearance for one standard gauge track (tubular or LCT realtrax) w/ engine and cars?

The product description states the bridge has 7" clearance--just click on the link in the post above yours.
I like it. Looks like it will support scale-sized equipment just fine. The warning lights are a nice touch. Thanks for posting the review.
just ordered 2 off them
That is a nice looking bridge, and I kinda wish they were around when I was doing layout planning as I would have used a couple. But for being double track, sure you got two pieces of FasTrack on it, but does it support the FasTrack spacing of 6 inch centers? If you can't space the FasTrack at what Lionel designed the track system for then it's not really double track FasTrack compatible, because like you said it is the most space hungry track system out there.
Are the single track versions available ?
Nice bridge, great review, unfortunately, no room. Thanks Eric.

I'd like to know the answer as well; the ad states a 7-inch clearance, but it doesn't specify if that is height or width.
Thanks
John

Clearance refers to the height. Two pieces of Lionel fastrack roughly measures 6 & 5/8 inches wide with roadbed's touching. So NO, two pieces of Fastrack with 6 inches center-rail to center-rail spacing will not fit because the bridge's description states it is 8 inches wide and it would need to be at least 9 & 3/8 inches or so. It does look like a nice bridge, though.
That's a shame. I'm a fastrack user so not fitting two tracks side by side with the 6 inch spacing is a non-starter for me. I agree it looks beautiful.
Ran fastrack right across them. Yes it’s tight but there’s enough room for both tracks. I’ve never had a problem getting big engines or freight across. Hope this helps!
wow, that’s a really nice pice, and it’s not a hunk of plastic! not bad for 80$, not bad at all.
Nothing says you have to maintain the 6” spacing. To get the 8” between the outer edges of Fastrack you can use 4 O96 curves to make two “S” curves on each side of the bridge for one of the two tracks. The outside measurement is about 7 and a half inches using O96 curves and about 8” if you use O84 curves.

I will add that I use ScaleTrax from MTH And It is very low profile and with 1/4" foam under it has less height than Fastrack or RealTrax. I also own several Bridges by MTH, Single and double track. They are powered thru the Pylons, Have lights and are 30" long BUT are all plastic, tho they hold up my Scale Big boy with no issues. They have 5 & 3/4" clearance over RealTrax. The 2 track version runs right at $100. Single Track version is $70. Prices per current MTH website.
Fastrack has plastic roadbed. A Moto-Tool will narrow it nicely. Maybe a hacksaw. Make it fit, where you can and where you want. It's model railroading. Tools and modifications are part of the party. Really.
