The mountain turned out great, and the track looks very real, as well as the building. Good job!

Now all you have to do is show that guy who was riding on the switcher (and hanging on to the railing for dear life) how to uncouple the cars for you

I enjoyed your switching operation, and when you get the Kadee uncoupling magnets it will be even better.

Great job! Can't wait to see more updates!

As for painting the couplers, just be carefule that you don't paint the spring or get paint inside of the pivot. Paint on the spring will keep the spring from compressing properly. Just remove the spring before painting, and make sure the coupler swings freely before re-installing it.

Will, very nice work! That video inspired me to get my yard up and running too. Did you scratch build the windows for the coalbreaker or did they come in a kit?

That' nice work, Will. You have great rock formations, wish I could get that good. You've given me inspiration to design some switching operations in my layout design. My former layout had some but I never got the hang of it.

Your doing fine there Will! It's refreshing to see a younger guy so interested in model railroading. You will be the future of the hobby.

I see you make mention twice about not having the Kadee magnets in place for uncoupling....well I dare say most of us Kadee users never bother with magnets. Get a manual uncoupling tool...most guys just make one from a bamboo skewer and they work well for uncoupling anywhere instead of having to get to a magnet location...just poke the point in between the Kadee knuckles and twist slightly...they seperate with a little practice...give it a try Will. The sticky Kadees can probably be made to work more freely by just brushing some graphite power into the knuckle mechanism with a cheap brush. Kadee makes this Graphite product or you can simply scrape a lead pencil to get a small amount of it to use...again worth a try Will, and doesn't cost anything.

Once I get out of college this will ultimately become part of a much larger layout! The coal mine is scratch built...thank you for the kind words
