Re: #613 body mold imperfection

Hello all.

A friend of mine who is very knowledgable with postwar Lionel showed me his 613 UP the other day. The back edge of the cab on the engineer's side had about a 1/4" piece missing but the red stripe continued across it to the end. He said there was a mold problem in 1958 when these were made. I don't know if it was at the beginning of the run, middle, or end. It's not a chip in the roof. Does anyone else's 613 out there have this missing edge piece or additional info on this mold blemish? Thanks.

My 613 does not have any chips or pieces missing.

Your post is the first I've heard of this mold imperfection.
