My 2333 Santa Fe horn won’t work. Has anyone had any success getting the cover off to sand the contact? This 1948 model seems to be a heavier gauge steel than the later ones.

I do thank you for your reply but this 1948 horn is a little bit different from the one in the video. I have fixed my horn from 1958 before and it doesn’t compare to this. I’ve shocked It . No luck.  any repair guys out there ?

The early 2333 F3 horns that Lionel built are just about impossible to open up and repair. Instead of stamped fingers to bend over, the whole diaphragm cover is bent over in a manufacturing process. They sounded decent when working. The later 2333 horns were built by Delta. There are repo's available with the correct mounting.

UNFORTUNATELY THE "HI HAT" HORNS W/THE LONG LEGS ARE OUT OF STOCK. GEORGE TEBOLT, OUT OF BUSINESS, SUPPLIED THEM FOR YEARS. THE HORNS ARE A BIKE HORN AND AVAILABLE BUT THE FRAME/BRACKETS AREN'T. WE STILL HAVE SEVERAL OTHER CONFIGURATIONS BESIDE THE MOST POPULAR WE JUST DISCUSSED.

GOOD LUCK/BILL

Patients and careful persistence.

Can you be a little more specific where you put the piece of tape for the sticking relay? I have one right now that is giving me fits.
