Here is a pic of my Niagara as it arrived fresh out of the box.
If you look carefully, you can see the missing black decking just under the front of the boiler.
I scrapped off the old glue, unwedged the deck and super glued it where it
belongs. Really wish I had a layout to run it on, even a carpet layout.
Wife won't let me have a layout in the house. Thought about one outside,
but it is too dusty here.
Nonetheless, it is a great addition to my fleet, which already has the CC2 Niagara.

You can build a 6" to 10" wide shelf track layout with a backdrop to set-up around a room or as mobile, modular sections outside to run the locomotives.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma(s). I have my layout and ham radio in the same room. Very handy that I can work on trains while on the radio.
What was the second picture that is not visible in your posting?

Maybe they will start including assembly instructions and plastic model cement in every BTO!
