One of the best resources of produced Legacy engines is the list created by @ed h here on the forum.  Not sure when he updated it last but here it is...

ed h Legacy list.

That is indeed a great resource that I have consulted before - it should really go in the Library of Congress!. It goes up to the 2018 Signature catalog and does record the Legacy locos and tenders that were cataloged but not produced (but not other cancelled products such as rolling stock and accessories). If there's an updated version I'd be keen to see it but it must have been a mammoth effort to create this one.

The vast majority of the things one the list are linked to Lionel catalog photos. On checking a few of them I was reminded of a few color mismatches but maybe the main thing is the sheer number and variety of models produced as against a very low cancellation rate. The one that still bugs me is the Legacy AC-4 cab forward that was cancelled in about 2009, probably because Lionel did not want to produce all new tooling.

One of these days I'll have to get around to updating the Legacy list. With the sheer amount of new items in each catalog, its become quite time consuming to do the updates. Since Lionel doesn't normally include news about cancellations on their webpage, usually the best source for this info is right here on the forum. Been a few dealers who occasionally post news like this.  Also Legacy Station has a section on their webpage listing canceled items.
