Sorry for this dumb question, but is this a TVS unit (see photo)?? I purchased 3 of these units a few years ago to protect the circuits on Command Control motorized units (can't find invoices!). That temporary layout was dismantled over a year ago, and I now I am ready to energize the tracks on the new layout. I will not do this unless I properly install TVS units to each mainline.
I know TVS units are supposed to be installed directly across the hot and ground lines, but when I did that with this unit, I just got constant clicking as if the circuit was opening and closing. Not sure how I installed these on the temporary layout (memory not like it used to be), or even if what I have are TVS units (they do not appear the same as TVS units described elsewhere on this forum). Don't want to ruin this unit or more importantly the Command Control engines.
