I am repairing a Fire car #18444 (switcher) & a Fire Fighting Fighting instruction car w/Railsounds Sound works. When I checked engine by itself motor the works. When I plug into engine into car I get sound but no movement. I checked the bottom board in the car LCRU 2 When I checked Lionel parts list I see 1 listing which might apply LCRU2 for 1 motor diesel (6108583256) Does anyone know if this is the correct # for the reverse board. Any one Know?

That should do it. The LCRU2 is the same, it's really the wiring that would be different. You shouldn't need to change the wiring since you have the engine with the wiring. You should be able to pop an LCRU2 in there and be on your way.
Thanks
Be sure to check the motor connectors first. These sometimes get loose. Wiggle the black molex plug also when it should be running. Gut feeling it is not the circuit board.
Well, since it's only reverse that was missing, I figured it was less likely to be loose connections.
Reverse unit lock-out switch?

This is probably one of those issues that would be easy to determine in person, but without precise symptoms, it's hard to do in ASCII. I re-read the OP's description and I don't know if it just doesn't have reverse or it doesn't run at all. If it doesn't run at all, then you may have been right about the motor connections after all.
Does it run forward-neutral-neutral-neutral-forward? That would be a sign of a bad board. I would re-heat the solder pads on the back of the board where the 4 power transistors are soldered to.
