Looking for a 97c controller for my log loader
Replies sorted oldest to newest
The original 97c had a black knob on the left to turn on or off and a momentary red button on the right for unload. It also had a flat three conductor cable. Is that what you were looking for?
I have a newer controller that looks somewhat like the 97c, except it appears to be made from black plastic instead of Bakelite and a red slide switch for on and off. The attached cable is round with three conductors, red, white, and yellow. Is it appropriate to call this newer switch a 97c, or is there another name for it?

I found one that is original. I dont really have any expertise on the controllers. Thanks for the reply
The instruction sheet for the modern Lionel 6-12915 "164" Log Loader shows the controller to be a "97C." It is a different style, in that the on-off switch is now a slider versus the original rotary knob. Since they kept the 97C number, hopefully it is indentical "electrically" to the original.
