Hello all ...Locomotive Workshop ...put out an incredible array of kits / models for the O scale world ... working in a cast aluminium, brass , +? .... many of the kits ...I've heard were considered a challenge for the builder ....

Locomotive Workshop made small batches of kits 25 + - ... the Zephyr first announced 1981 , proto model shown at shows in 84 and on the market in 87 ...offered 3 or 4 car ...kit or a few ready to run .. here is a 4 car ...I suspect this is factory built ...runs well . A bit basic kit wise ... but captures the Silver Streak quite nicely. Please see link for video footage ...

Thanks for sharing...beautiful model. I've always loved the look of the Zephyr. So futuristic looking for so long ago.

Just one motor?

I worked on a 3rd Rail Brass version a year ago. Had one motor in front and one in the observation. (similar price)

Yes only one open frame motor ..pulls the train no problem ...the Bob Thon 1 gauge version has 2 motors ...please see link

there is a world of difference between the Bob Thon model and the Locomotive Workshop one ...but each is nice ..cheers Carey
