LL - is it a custom paint job?
Well I normally don't have much to contribute for a "Midwest" railroad, but I found a box car in my fleet that carries the livery of the Toledo, Peoria, and Western or T.P.& W. with the slogan "Links East and West" which by definition must mean its midwestern. This railroad, started in 1887, runs through the heart of Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa.
Hope you have a great week.
Best Wishes

Nice pics and video. Glad you stopped by.
Good evening Midwest Monday folks, the steamer I posted earlier is a one of a kind, it was created by Pat at Harmonyards for a friend of mine. It started out an older TMCC Lionel T1, but with many pictures of the actual rebuilding of the 576 Big Steam Locomotive that was in Centennial Park in Nashville Tennessee. The boiler, custom headlight, sounds system, custom handmade tender, custom decal work was created by master-builder Pat at Harmonyards, North Carolina. It runs flawlessly with a big Pittman motor and 4 chuffs per revolution…. Thank you all for the kind words. The picture was taken at our good friend Dr. Jack Fishers home, on his magnificent layout. Happy Railroading Everyone

@lee drennen- Thanks Lee for your comment on my TP&W boxcar, I must admit I liked the "rocket" logo myself
@leapinlarry - beautiful pictures Larry and that locomotive #576 was a beauty as well. I remember Dr. Fisher's magnificent layout (and yours by the way) from my great trip to Nashville last summer.
Best Wishes

Thanks Ron - I did not research it but I love it when they produce stuff that is true to prototype (more or less) Jim
Well since I lived in Ohio (Dayton) and lived just outside Baltimore I have a soft spot for the Baltimore and Ohio RR. Given that Ohio is (generally considered) the Midwest, I am going to assume that the B&O can be considered a Midwest RR. So here are a few trains from the B&O.
First the lithographed metal B&O F-3 AA unit from 1953-54. 1958, and 1967 so Mr. Marx really liked this one!
Next a couple of B&O Marx boxcars, blue from 1964 and red from 1973
Finally the 7" B&O caboose from 1955-1957
Well I hope you all had a happy Easter . Best wishes

I intended to get back sooner ,but "stuff" happens!
More info the "Pittsburgh" was a diner and the "East Akron" a sleeper.
Also and you may know this the B&O was the first road east of the Mississippi to run dome cars. They were the "low Profile" ones as depicted in/by MTH's Premier line.
I road in the dome of one run trip to Chicago at night in the mid-50's.

Well I normally don't have too much for this post, although I like what everyone shows. I did finally figure out that this common Marx gondola would qualify. The Wabash, which was leased to the N&W for much of its life maintained its corporate independence all the way to very close to the end of the 20th century. 1991 it was finally merged into North Western and lost its independent flag. This car was part of the Marx 7" line of 4 wheel cars that was brought out by Marx directly to compete with a new line of trains marketed by Unique Toy Company as the Unique Lines. It was available from 1955- 1961.

Okay Jim, I took the bait!
Here is one from the archives. A trio of four axle EMD's is in charge of a pipe train:
Sorry I haven't participated much lately. We have a BIG project at work that has required a LOT of overtime. On top of that, our son just got married this past weekend in California. Hopefully, I can contribute more now that things are slowing down.
