The latest addition to the Patton roster! The plan is to re-number it to 765. I wanted to find a model of the 765, but the new ones don’t fit the budget, and the postwar berks aren’t accurate enough for my tastes, so I went with a Railking engine from the bay.

It’s almost fully functional (had to re-seat the whistle board, and the smoke unit doesn’t work).

I’ve got a decal sheet ordered to change the number, and I’m hoping that the lettering on the side of the sand dome will fit... I would also like to add crew figures...

I will post updates as I start to get into the re-numbering process...

Looks great. The Rail King Berk is a winner in all liveries, especially NKP.

Yes! It has the right look! It’s cool to have a fairly accurate model of a locomotive I’ve seen first-hand without having to spend ~$1500...

The drivetrain is also fantastic on this engine! If you cut the power at speed it coasts gracefully to a stop!

I 100% agree. I can't afford the Premier stuff, nor do I really have the curves on my layout for them. I have 3 Rail King models in Nickel Plate, 759, 763 (my first new loco purchase ever), and 767 which was a gift from my Dad. I have the W&LE version on order as well. My very loving wife ok'd that purchase. She has literally heard me say "if they ever make a Wheeling & Lake Erie...." for the last 15 years or so.

Steaming Jon - Your locomotive looks great and I hope you enjoy it for many years to come. Having done some custom work myself, there is a next level enjoyment that comes from knowing you've made it your own.
