I am building an Altoona Model Works car shop for the front of the layout. It's been kicking around for a few weeks now and I've been working on it here and there when I get the time and I'm in the mood. Here's some quick workshop progress shops along with a shot of where it will live when it's done:

I got this awesome kit from Dave at Mercer Junction. Originally it was single ended. I ordered the second set of doors and end wall along with the lighting kit and his upgraded brass hinge assemblies. The upgraded hinges are a bit pricey but they were worth it I think. I hope to finish this building soon so I can get back to work on the layout scenery. There's a lot of rough work that's been done that's not seen in the photo above.

Thanks LOS, I am hoping to start the weathering tonight. I got some laser cut PRR keystones coming for it too.

I was originally going to plant some of my factories from my old layout but decided to go with this instead. I may model an outdoor traveling crane at one end at some point. Got a lot of scenery work to do around it first though.

Here are some updated shots of the surroundings. It is still fairly rough as I work the scenery in layers. If I fell ambitious enough, I will put together another batch of Super Trees and wire up the lighting. I also have a bucket of machinery details for the interior that I need to paint up.

The last few photos show me trying to figure out where to stick the utility pole fixture.
