Hi All
I posted to a Wanted topic the other day and it got refused.  So I trimmed the waffly bits off and tried again ... it got refused again.  Here's the text, anybody got any ideas why it was refused?

***, just in case ... I've got a selection of 'left-overs' from 3-rail to 2-rail conversions, as you can guess mostly wheelsets, couplers and pickups.  I can never bring myself to throw anything away, so I do have some Weaver 3-rail diesel gearbox/wheelsets (pre-China Drive versions) that I have no use for.  Straightforward conversion if you see any 2-rail versions of their RS3s, GP38-2s and Alco FAs for sale.

I'm down in Wiltshire at present, email is in my profile.  There will be a 3-rail layout at the Winchester Meet in October.

The OP also lives in the UK and was searching for a particular diesel.  This post was intended to be a 'maybe I can help sort out an alternative loco'.

Hi Rich

This is my first note, complete with waffle and unnecessary instructions for using my email(!).  I trimmed down for the second note, the body of which is the italicised text above.  Both were not approved (sorry - wrong word 'refused'):

Tim, just in case ... I was an O-scale 2-rail importer a few years ago and I've got a selection of 'left-overs' from 3-rail to 2-rail conversions, as you can guess mostly wheelsets, couplers and pickups.  I can never bring myself to throw anything away, so I do have some Weaver 3-rail diesel gearbox/wheelsets and Alco FA, GP38-2 bodyshells plus a couple of MTH and Lionel 6-axle diesels waiting for love and attention.  The Lionel GE U30C has now got 2-rail wheels, but....  It's in D&H, that's why it was first in the latest conversion queue.

I'm down in Wiltshire at present, email is jasond1947 at gmail.  Com - yes needs making into proper mail addy.  Winchester Meet in October?

Pretty sad, you had to take down the American flag!!   Rob

What in the world are you talking about? We would have no reason to take down a post just because it contained an American flag! I can assure you that everyone here at OGR is quite proud of our flag.

Rich, the robot moderator is running wild!

That's true, Alan A. changed the TOS the other day because of an email exchange I had with him about a robot alert that flagged my posting. You can now no longer refer to or promote the eBay forum.

Rob

He just made it "official."

As I said, that policy has been in effect for many years. I didn't want to see the Buy/Sell forum become nothing more than a bunch of links to sales on Ebay.

Rich, it's always been policy in the Buy/Sell forum(which is appropriate & needed), but now it is in the forum TOS as of this past week.

"You also agree that you will not use this forum to promote other forums including but not limited to ebay and similar websites via the posting of their web address, whether via a hyperlink or via text."

My post that got deleted wasn't promoting any other forums and wasn't in the Buy/Sell/Trade areas. Hoop.la flagged it.

Rob

Give me a break! NO ONE at OGR is “un-American.”

If the post was deleted, it was for some other reason, not because it contained an image of the flag.

Good grief...

We’re all done here with this nonsense. The thread is closed.
