We don't publish road numbers online. Imagine if only 2 of each road number were made but customers request 4 of 1 road number. We send out non-duplicates and random numbering.

Tom is right. Having spent the '50's and 60's observing Burlington diesels, the Mars light was vertical.........and seemed to describe an "8" pattern in it's movement.

Could we please end the excoriation of Scott and Jonathan?

Please understand this was Scott's generic engineering prototype for testing.  Not necessarily the same features and details as the actual Burlington model.  The prototype just happened to be in Burlington livery.  There were known inaccuracies at that stage.  This was to test the motor control, lights and sounds, running gear, etc.  Not intended to have the final cosmetic features.  So, no fair pointing out detail discrepancies based on my topic. 

Well, it looks like a great model to me. I got a NYC A on stand by. 

Just picked up my UP E9A today.  Ran it on my layout this morning. My initial thoughts are that the detail is top notch with most of the road-specific details the UP units had.  No rotary beacon or firecracker antenna, but I have those in my parts bin.  Easy enough to add.  The side screens are a big improvement.  No buckling like my FP7, and no messy glue like my F7's.  Looks like they are held in with tabs.  

It runs slower than my other locos, but it won't be running with anything else but other E9's, so that's just fine.  Like my earlier E7, it's too light to pull a small consist up a 2% grade by itself, I will probably add some weights.  Pre-set volume is perfect for me...usually the first thing I do is program it lower.  Not necessary here.  The paint finish is dead flat.      I would have preferred a satin finish like the first round of GGD sleepers....but that's just me.  Overall, it's everything I wanted.  Now I'm just waiting for my B-unit to be delivered tonight.  

Okay, 2nd UP unit just arrived via the big brown truck.  Was my other "A" unit, not the "B".   The two of them had no trouble pulling the small consist up a 2% grade.  I'll test them tomorrow to see how much they really do pull.  Have to head to work now to pay for more trains.  

Got my UP E-8's on Monday and equally delighted. Some QC issues on one "A" unit and a few minor details to modify, but overall a stellar model.     Incredible paintwork.
