Just curious.  So while figure 6 appears to show that the uncouple coil is wired to the right control rails, figure 7 shows that coil is wired to the left control rails.  So am I reading figure 6 wrong?  Or is figure 6 wrong?  Did the UCS track ever have the coil wired to the right control rail like shown in Figure 6?  Or is there another explanation?  TIA

Yah, I checked all of mine.  None of mine are wired like figure 6.  It makes a small functional difference especially with a car that has coil couplers (e.g. 3459) if the coil is wired to the left or right control rails.  I wonder if Lionel switched from the right to the left when magnetic couplers where introduced back in the day?
