If you go to a local Radio Shack you can get them for free out of there battery recycle box. You can also find them at some supermarkets that recycle old cell phones. Just bring along a pair of scissors.

I just got some of these.

Are you talking the large ones Pete posted, or the smaller ones like MTH uses on lights and couplers?   G

I am referring to the connectors lionel uses to connect the lights. For example,  when i take the shell off a steamer I have to pull the connection apart to disconnect the headlight. The one end of the wire remains connected to the main board and the other end remains connected to the headlight.

 

Joe, timely post as I am trying trying to figure out who makes those connectors. It would help if you posted a pic of the exact connector.

Lionel uses are least three type of those small connectors. Some made by Molex, some by Leoco, and some by brand ???. The ones used in one of my engines have .1" (2.54mm) pin pitch and have a camphor on two corners. MTH uses these same connectors so hopefully G can help us both out. Most of the Leoco's have  2mm pin pitch and are used to connect wires to boards. I think the ones similar to Leocos but with a 2.54 mm pitch are Molex.

 

Connector X is shown as H or L in this image. Is this the same one you are looking for?

He is probably looking for these, P.N WM18873-ND, WM18886-ND figure H or L in your pick. They are from Digi-key. P.N.WM18886-ND is the header

Thanks Bill. Those are the ones I was looking for at least. I was drawing blanks when I searched Digikey for them, Molex as well. Mystery solved.

 

I see my error now. I was searching on 2.54 mm connectors and these are listed as 2.5mm. Searching on 2.5 mm brings them up.

  You will need the WM18889CT-ND connector pins for the for the WM18873-ND.

DK can be hard to search for connectors, they have so many sub list.  They also have wire pre-crimped.  But so does Lionel.  For MTH the upgrades generate a lot of spare connectors.  G

You're right about that George!  I've stopped needing any MTH connectors and pins since I started doing upgrades.  You do generate a lot of extra wire and connectors after a spell!
