Here are a couple of projects I've been tinkering with.

The first is a box cab electric locomotive 0-B-B-0 that I made from a Marklin 1 Gauge #18891 Gepäckwagen  (Baggage car).  All 4 axles are powered, and it has sequential reverse.  Modified it some, but it still has the original paint.

Then the second project started when I bought a shell only (cab) of what I am pretty sure is also Marklin, but it is much larger.  Was able to put a Williams dual motor Standard Gauge power unit in it, with a Williams reversing board; and modified a couple of American Flyer flex-trucks to use for pilot trucks, so it's a 2-B-2.

It is 19-1/2" long at the buffers and 8-1/2" high at the pantographs, which are original.  It really is huge.

There is a lot of neat detail on this piece, including 5 headlights and 4 interior lights; 4 hinged doors and 4 sliding motor compartment doors on the sides.  The finish on this appears to be all original also.

Daniel, the Williams motor unit did not have side rods on its wheels, but I'm working on that; there is enough clearance for them on the sides, so I'll get them on sometime. The cab was lettered "SBB" and "CFF", so I am assuming this is a Swiss  Ae 4/7.  There were LGB stickers on the sides of the cab, covering spots where the paint had come off; so I made some decals to cover.  Not really sure I have this identified and marked 100% correctly now, but maybe it's better than it was!

So now I have some Standard Gauge Marklin locomotives to pull my Marklin freight with Standard Gauge trucks.

Here's some video of them running...

thanks for watching!

David that is a really good job.  The modified baggage car looks really well but the "Marklin" engine is a beauty, it is very well made and has a great patina. Even without side rods it is a great model and maybe doesn't really need to have rods.

It makes me think to the french JEP O gauge 2B2.

Greetings for your model, a sweet piece i would really enjoy to find.

Thank you Daniel, I appreciate your support and encouragement.

That JEP loco must be modeling the same prototype.   Here is a picture of a Marklin O Gauge locomotive that is quite similar,

Mine is a very large beast, but it is fun to run on the layout... something different, that's for sure!
