I have acquired a beautiful 597 Pre War American Flyer A-Koostikin (talking) station. I would like to know if someone can give me a detailed hook up wiring diagram for this early model? It is not like the later 755 Talking Station inside so the current 755 Service Manual and hook up instructions do not work. The cam unit is there, but it only has two contact fingers and no resistor. There is also no single lead to the lamp as in the 755. Motor runs, lamp lights, record plays weakly, but that is with the all black cloth covered wire set to Base Post and ANY of the other wires to the 17V fixed. This makes no sense as the one contact isn't even touching the cam! Also, its advertised in the 1948 catalog as being able to stop the train. How can it do that with no resistor circuit? This one has me stumped.

Thanks

Gandy
