LOL! Yes they are tough - they usually play for chocolate chip cookies.

Well last night after my getting the kids to bed  - started mocking up my town...

But most of the area is still destroyed...

I had to use my Passenger yard for Building staging!

At the end of the night I was able to get some trains running again... my fear was 'as soon as you cover that track with scenery and buildings, you lose the tmcc signal' ....

But all was good.

last night I hooked up some lights to the buildings just to get the look of things...

The layout looks great, and it is wonderful seeing all those happy faces!!  

One question.  Are your upper and lower levels connected together for trains to move from one to the other or are they independent?  I'm thinking of doing something similar, but think in a room slightly less than 144 sq feet, I'll not connect the two levels.

They are separate right now. However in the future I may connect them?

The lower loop is  a basic up and over dog bone with sidings and yards to support. It has a Wye on each end of the loops as well. It measures about 900 square ft.

The upper deck has a Passenger staging "Low line" loop, with an elevated dual track upper "High Line". It travels the outer perimeter of the room. it measures about 1050 square ft...

At the last get-together We were able to have 6 operators running trains.  And about 22 people comfortably in the train room...

Thank you for the description, the extra photos, and the invitation.  While I have never been to Michigan, the Detroit area is only about 5 hour drive from my home.  There are a lot of O gauge train guys up your way, I need to find a chance to make a trip!

Well its time to clean up the work tables... less than 2 weeks to show time.
