I just got a an email from the NYO&W Historical Society......the Society is purchasing one of the original O&W 44 tonners.....the 1st pic is in the original livery and the subsequent ones in the updated O&W livery.

The diesels lead the way for the O&W being the 1st Class 1 RR to completely dieselize(putting off their bankruptcy for about another decade to 1957).

It will be moved to Steamtown by flatbed where it will be restored. I'll post more when I have more details.....I would love an MTH PS3 version in the original O&W maroon livery!

In the 1970's, was there a coal mine or one of the Family Lines roads purchase some SD40-2's which were actually painted for the O&W?  Guess they are now scrapped?

This topic is a different O&W. Actually this engine is from the "NYOW", often abbreviated to O&W. You are talking about the "Oneida and Western", a coal hauling operation.
