I am using foam board as a backing for a back drop. I am planning to use hot melt at the low temp setting on the back of the foam board in a few spots to tack it to the wall. Is this a good option or should I use something else. The backdrop is 13" by 38". All help greatly appreciated..................Paul

Yes, use the adhesive rather than the hot melt glue.  The hot melt may stick to the wall, but the foam board may be damaged at the site of the glue.  So what you will get is the foam failing just slightly over the glue spot.  The board will let go leaving s blob of hot glue covered in foam particles.
