Lionchief - Types of smoke fluid used on your locomotive's smoke generator

You'll be fine - it's the same fluid.

I used the starter set fluid in my Polar Express; then after that, used Lionel Premium for a few times; then switched to MegaSteam and have been using that ever since.

Thanks Greg, I was unsure and didn’t want to damage the smoke unit.

Our Polar Express smoke funnel doesn’t line up with the smoke unit.

It’s a factory flaw to our benefit.

See when it chuff the unit works well.

But the smoke also builds up in the Die-cast metal locomotive body and the smoke releases out from underneath from the wheels. It’s a great effect. It looks like steam coming from underneath.

 

It’s even a greater effect when it comes to a stop. The loco and rail is covered with steam/smoke.

 

Looks like the real thing.

I've been using JT's Mega Steam, it seems to work well.  I have no idea if it will have any negative affects on the smoke unit.

I have been using JT's Megasteam in my LionChief Plus steamer for about a year (since it arrived), with zero adverse effects.   It still smokes/steams like it did new.   I love it! -Ken
