There were five sets in the FARR series, one for the Santa Fe, The Union Pacific, The Great Northern , The Southern and the Pennsylvania Railroads. They were all headed by steam locomotives with the Sound of Steam. Each set had 5 cars catalogued for the set and a 6th car sold as an add on. The 6th car was usually produced in smaller quantities. These were nice sets produced when Lionel was expanding their marketing effort towards the collectors side of the hobby.
