Below is a picture of a Lionel F3 dummy I had as a kid (circa 1957). I have a powered unit (204 or 206?) I am having serviced. I would like to buy one more powered unit A or better yet B.

That's an Alco FA unit. The F3 is bigger with a more rounded nose.

No B unit was made for the SF blue. Silver and red they did make one. So another dummy or powered A is your only option. Unless the LCCA sent had a B??

I saw what I thought was a B unit (number 200) at York but it was part of a set and the owner did not want to break the set up.
I took a look at the pair for auction but decided against it. The owners state that if they don't specifically mention the powered unit works then they won't guarantee it nor will they accept returns.
The 200 B-Unit you saw at York dates from 1993 and was sold with a pair of F3 A-Units (powered and dummy). The 200 will be larger than your unit as pointed out above.

While it’s possible that your powered unit is numbered 204, if both units were purchased brand new together and it hasn’t been modified then it should have the same number (208) as your pictured dummy unit. But they also made that diesel in the same paint scheme with both units numbered 204 in 1957. The 208 was made in 1958 and ’59 and the only difference is that the 208 dummy did not have a headlight like the 204 dummy. There was no #206 post-war Lionel diesel.

I don't have the powered unit in hand. A friend has it for servicing so was guessing on the engine number. I'm thinking it is going to be hard finding a powered unit.
