Hi, there used to be a company named M-TEC that made a product called STREET SYSTEMS. It came in several scales and was used to animate the movement of street vehicles, like cars, trucks and buses. It was based on a chain and motor driven sprocket design. I have decided I would like to animate my streets and was looking for them. However, I have not been able to find the M-TEC COMPANY that made the street systems anywhere on the WEB. Does anyone please know if they still exist and if so, how can i find them. If they no longer exist does anyone have or know where to get information on the product they made. Thank You, Clarke

In the book "A Beginner's Guide to Creative Effects for your Model Railroad" by Paul Newitt many pages with photos show various M-TEC products. But the book is from 2005 and the website (I won't give it here since it goes to some foreign site) and address (in West Sacramento, CA) given in the book are dead-ends. So this book might be a good source of info on their products - a sample page shown below.

Coincidentally, there is this thread in the Scenery forum about some guy on eBay selling moving vehicle animations for around $100 which is remarkably inexpensive - I have no connection to this seller or know anything more than what I just read in the thread. I didn't see any videos, but based on the listing descriptions he must be using some kind of sprocket/chain system and a Tamiya gearbox motor (which is described in the book). You might contact that seller. If you do please post back on what you find!
