Steve, great job with this TV segment. The reporter did an outstanding job to make the multiple segments very entertaining. He came off as a real nice guy who was genuinely interested in your story.

You and your wife have done an incredible job to come this far in such a short time. Best of luck for a huge success with your store.

I bet that you will have more media interest in your activities in the future.

Thank you very much and thanks for posting the fourth segment - I couldn't find it either! It was broadcast and I have it on our DVR, but I couldn't find it online.

Dick is a local personality and does a lot of things like this. He had read the story about us in the Sunday Indianapolis Star a couple of weeks ago and called.

We had a really good time with him.

We are hosting, with the LCCA, an open house for families with children with autism on Saturday May 3rd to show them the layout / trains and introduce them to modular railroading in O gauge. We are planning to open up our workshop in back to families that would like to build a module and then show it at the LCCA convention here in late July.  Dick and Channel 8, after visiting, have run some free spots promoting the open house. We are trying to get them to cover it live. We will see.

Thanks again, all.

Steve:

The one thing I have learned over the years dealing with the media is you have to constantly remind them of your event. As an example, I am Chairman for a Capital Campaign to build a center for wellness and fitness for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities (including adolescents and adults with autism). We held a kickoff press conference last week and I spent weeks in advance reminding the media of this event. It paid off as all of them showed up for the press conference that got wonderful press coverage of this event.

You have a very worthwhile event so good coverage is achievable if you stay on top of the media.

I invite you to attend the LCCA Special Event on Saturday May 3.  This wil be a fun and worthwhile event with families with  autism and the general public.   Everyone will have fun with the impressive layout and the demonstration of the new Lionel/LCCA FasTrack modular Railroad system.  If you have an interest in building a modular section or possibly sponsoring  a modular section for a group of Autistic children to build and decorate, please contact me at 248 709-4137.  We are planning a big modular layout for our 44 th Annual Convention to be held at the Marriott East Hotel in Indianapolis  on July 20-26, 2014.  I am certain you will have fun.  Bring your entire family and friends.  Please spread the word.

Great looking train store and layout. With a name like Mr. Muffins Trains, it is bound to attract attention from the public and the media. It apparently has done exactly that. It will just be a matter of time before the model train magazines show up. This is what the market needs. BTW where is your Mr. Muffin hat and the store mascot dressed in a Disney type of outfit?
