Blueline,

Bernie's buildings are fantastic.  The size and scope is very rewarding.  They really compliment the rest of the layout.

MWB,

I really like the lighthouse.  Lots of neat detail.  It looks like it belongs on a rocky seacoast!

Lars,

The grain elevator is really massive.  I never was in the midwest until 3 years ago, and saw how massive these are.  Yours captures that vision.

Thanks,

Thanks, Gene.  Clugston's has turned out to be the model that stopped me from building large board by board, stone by stone models for several years now by turning into the 800lb gorilla in my shop that would not go away.  Maybe something will inspire me someday to return to such projects.

Fred seems to have drifted away and I sort of came close at times to doing the same....  Still, the Scenery section remains worth looking in on periodically.

I posted this in another thread because we were talking about Ameritown buildings.  Other than my cathedral, this is the largest building on my layout.  It is bashed from Ameritown panels and was a much more complicated build than might be thought.  It looks to be two panels wide but in fact its not quite, having a bit trimmed off about 1/2 inch less thanthat so that the number and width of columns looks good across the front on the first three floors looks even.  That created problems matching that width, while keeping window spacing even, in the upper floors.  Not that in terms of depth, the first three floors are more than one panel deep: so it involved a lot of cutting glueing, etc., but it turned out exactly like I wanted.

A picture of just the T-T building

The coolest featur, though, is the revolving front door.

Board by board, stone by stone, with interiors!?....now I am too embarrassed to put

any of mine on here! I had three buildings going on a workbench and two tables to

gin them out, for a while, and, at last count, had 85 from two story johnny houses, up, kit built, kitbashed, and scratch built....might be over 100 now...but no exterior details not part of building until in place.  Really some outstanding constructions on here.  I

am gonna hafta page back and see if I can plagiarize any.  I like pennsynut's collapsing

barn...have seen a lot of those.
