Thanks G.

The whole reason I had asked, was for the same reason you posted. Description and manual from MTH stated DCC capable and there is a switch to change from DCS to DCC. Nothing was mentioned that the engine was 3R/2R capable(trucks). From pics posted by seller I could not see the additional power pic ups for 2R. The seller finaly posted pics of the box and in the description did state 2R/3R capable. I know it was a dumb question and I knew it was 2R capable. What I needed to know if the trucks were convertible. Since I am about to build a new layout, I have yet to decide if I am going to run 2R. It would be one less engine to convert by replacing powered trucks.

I have this MTH GN set also, It is a disappointment in the Trucks, the truck is the same old same old from all previous MTH FA runs. I spoke to MTH reps about using the U25B Trucks which do have the more correct axle spacing, better side frames and are 3-2 capable, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Cost factor I suppose, too many projects on their plate ? Maybe the next run. One can always Hope!

I have heard, round about, not for sure that the MTH U25B is the original Weaver model reworked, detailed and upgraded. My concerns I guess would be to know if the Motor mount position into the truck assembly is in the same place, pivot center, for the FA, or would that have to reworked in the sheet metal frame? I believe the U25B axle spacing is scaled to about 9'4"+or-, MTH FA is scaled to about 8'
