Working on my Railking PS3 diesel  -  30-20143-1

The Headlight is not working.  After checking things I feel the LEDs (there are two) may be burned out.

Surprised to find that the small circuit board at the front where all lights and couples plug into was just screwed to the bottom of the metal engine frame with to barrier between it and the metal plate.

I've searched the MTH site but I cannot find the part number for this headlight harness.

I want to try and wire in two new LEDs.

Can someone advise me as to the voltage of these lights and possibly where to get them commercially.  The LEDs in question are smooth without the usual "lip" at the bottom.

Thank You

Dave

Dave,

You can test the LED by swapping it out with the LED on the opposite end of the engine.  Front has a blue plug, rear has a green plug.

If the LEDs work then the problem is on the board.  FETs on PS3 boards cannot be replaced and the board would have to be replaced.

The small board where the light plug into has no circuitry on it.

Good luck,

Dave

No worries John........sometimes I do miss the simple things but no the button is on.

Did not think of trying that Dave and just did.  No joy........rear lights work but when I plug in the headlight harness - no lights.

What voltage are these LEDs and might you know a source?

I could wire new LEDs in if I could acquire them.....otherwise it's a new harness from MTH.....and that takes a while....if they have it.

Thanks Gents

Dave

If the light works in the rear but does not work in the front, then the problem is not the light, it is the board.

Dave it seems he's saying that the front LED didn't work plugged into the connector for the rear, that seems to indicate it's the LED and not the board.  Perhaps I'm reading this wrong, but that's what it appears he's saying.

Thanks Dave - GR John is correct.

John H.....thanks for the link however as seen here in the pics - lots of LEDs with the "lip" at the bottom.

However, I cannot seem to find the ones MTH uses without the "lip".

You need these to slide all the way into the lens holder  -  pics clarify.

Time to improvise ..................
