We are shutting down all new sales for Tinman3rail.com starting April 1st thru sometime in September. This will include both web site and EBay sales. We will be available by phone and email should you have any questions or concerns with what you purchased.
We will be spending our Spring and Summer rebuilding our stock of Lionel original tinplate style track for next season. We are even thinking of taking a national tour to visit train shows, or people who have large inventories of track, switches, and ZW transformers (which we now rebuild). Any ideas here would be appreciated. We also will be perfecting a new and exciting method of replacing the original slide style switches in the O22 etc switches. This new method will be using new, close to indestructible, components that we feel should last for another 100 years or so. We plan on incorporating that along with the new bootstraps, advanced wiring and LED lights, with all our switches. We are super close in perfecting our track reconditioning process. That is A no 1 on my list to finally complete. I promise you guys, you will be blown away, when we finally make public the info. We have also been approached by a Chinese manufacturer who would like to sell us brand new O gauge tinplate track. That I am not so sure of. 10 or 20 years ago, I would have jumped at the opportunity, today, am not so sure I am ready for yet another adventure.
We will also be working on our website tinman3rail.com with lots of tips and techniques designed for less than professional train guys. Watch for the section called….."There's no such thing as a stupid question, just a lot of dumb answers" or perhaps, big dummies guide to working with Lionel train stuff.
If you or someone you know has a stock of O gauge tracks etc they would like to dispose of, please let us know. We have a procedure where all they need do is pack it as tightly as possible in boxes, give me an approximate weight and we will email them prepaid shipping labels. Once we have received the items, we will inventory the stock, and issue a PayPal credit or send a check. If interested let us know, and we can discuss values etc.
I am very appreciative of all the great console I have received from many of you. You guys have solved problem after problem for me, introduced me to terrific resources, and most importantly made me aware of serious differences of opinion. We have changed many what we thought were correct procedures etc, based on a lot of your inputs. (in some cases, yes we stuck to our guns, but at least we were able to make those decisions from an educated position). Could not have survived without it.
Have a great spring and summer my friends! We will be back this fall!
Thanks again....tinman@tinman3rail.com aka Rich
