Hi all, I'll be bringing a non-smoking steam locomotive to York for one of our good OGR members to test. He'd upgraded the smoke unit a few years ago. Our modular club is not having a display this year, and I did not know for sure if there would be options to test it in the Orange Hall. Are there test tracks there? If so, are they TMCC equipped?  Thanks for any advice.

There has been a test track near the rollup door towards the front/middle of the hall next to Atlas.  I do not know if it will be in the same location, but they generally seem to keep these in the same place unless some large modification to the booth layout needed it to be elsewhere.

I do not think historically they have had TMCC capability, but it's probably been a few years since I've tested anything.

The best thing to is to take it to one of the modular layouts that are running. They would be happy to help you out.

Don't assume that especially Thursday or early Friday when the bugs are getting worked out. It can be a trying time for the members. DCS will be tough. Maybe the guy who does the upgrades next to roll up door on the Brown hall side. Gargraves might be able to help you out with a TMCC engine.

Some clubs do have test tracks though.

That thought occurred to me and I originally included it in my response, then thought better of it due to possible interference with Atlas and/or Lionel.

Thank you everyone for your informative responses. It is A TMCC engine and I will bring a controller along. I will check first with any operating layout folks there to see if Alex and I could give the locomotive a try. Locomotive was smoking well but after turning it off with controller, number eight, I have been unable to get the smoke to restart. I said Orange Hall bnecause I know that is where Alex is usually set up.

I have been to some events, Kensington MD Train Days come to mind, where there is a "Train Doctor" set up.  That might be something for Eastern Division to consider at future meets.
