TMCC speaker

Hi Keith,

ERR uses a 8 ohm 2 watt speaker, so as long as you match that you will be good to go.

Also there is a plus and minus on the speakers. Look very close and you will see the plus and minus

You can indeed use the same speaker, the TMCC sound system uses an 8 ohm speaker. 

Minor correction, the ERR standard speaker is a 2W 8 ohm speaker.

Did you smoke the R2LC/motor driver, or the sound system.  I have several Atlas Set ups if you need a specific part.  That will be less expensive than going to a full ERR set up.  G

Sounds like he's already half way there with the ERR board, now he's looking for sound.

How did everything get smoked?  G

The GP-15 engine's back trucks center rail wire had broken and I repaired it. The Atlas engines do not have much room between the center rail and outside rail wires on top of the truck. I set the engine on the track and it started up OK and ran a short distance on a curve and then "POP" and that was it, Some how the center rail wire shorted out the TMCC system.

 I installed a DC commander, due to it is smaller and with more room for the power wires to move freely. I did not want to send the engine back to Atlas. And I like the new ERR railsounds better.

  I still have the old "Smoked" system. Can I have it checked out to see if it can be repaired? If so, I have more engines that I could install it in that have can motors in the trucks.

You can certainly check to see if the old boards can be revived, it could be a minor issue.

Keith,  Yes they can be checked.  I would also recommend sending the mother board too.  It may just be a burned trace.  I doubt everything was damaged.  these   G
