Tonight, I swore I saw the scale ghosts of conductor Cy Crumley and engineer Sherman Pippin. I snapped some shots, thinking when I look later, they'd just be of empty track. Halloween came early for the ET&WNC!

They just walked out of the cornfield at the Ensor farm looked around, and Cy walked down the tracks to near the grade crossing at Sadie. Sherman went directly for # 11, which was sitting cold at the time. A chill came over the air...

As these two were gentlemen in life, I expect no evil from them now. As the locals said after I showed them the photos (taken from my Speed Graphic box camera), "Them ain't haints, they's wouldn't do nary a bit of evil h'yar!"

To translate Hillbilly to English, such distinguished men wouldn't come back as bad spirits. At the worst, I was told I might get tiny letters of admonishment over some conditions on the layout.

Hi Coach and thanks for the kind comments. The 'Aspen Leaf' D&RG diesels are Williams Santa Fe's that I modified the fuel tanks and re painted. My first effort at a custom paint which I did after seeing this beautiful scheme some years ago. It has a MTH Premire powered B unit w/smoke that didn't fit on the diorama!

Am still surprised that noone has produced these in 3R, especially after seeing the beautiful photos posted by Erik Lundgren of his O scale models.

Sam not sure why the Rio Grande PA,s haven't been done in O gauge in the Aspen Leaf scheme.  I know they have been done in HO multiple times. O gauge mfg,s need to wake up. At least Lionel finally came out with a Southern Pacific SD45 in the correct colors.  Too bad MTH ignored the request for years.  I pre ordered Lionel's!

Terry,

It is definitely  a looker! Mine came yesterday. I always test before putting away as I do not have a permanent layout yet. I was really bummed when I heard the sounds. They used the EXACT same sound file in the uncatalogued engine they released a few years back! Hence, this is why I started a Disappointed Sounds Post earlier today out of frustration. I will bet they did they same thing with the Halloween ES44's. I just do not understand it! I am not sure why this is such a sore subject with me but it is. sorry....

I was taking some photos of the trains which was a Wonderfull collection , loved the 611 and all the engines on display, the E33 was a treat. making my way to the north end to check out the rest of the motive power I froze in shock! there tucked in a corner was a GG1, A BLACK GG! ! O the humanities! Shades of PC, I am hoping it is a base coat and you are going to paint it in PRR colors, PLEASE! I ill come down and help!

I don't have any Halloween trains, but I did assemble my orange B&LE and B&P engines and B&LE, B&P, and Armco cars. My wife Kim likes to hide decorations though. Haunted houses, graveyards, ghosts, and lots of jack-o-lanterns. Oh yes, did you see the Wicked Witch of the East's feet?

Multi-mode transport in Glen Rock PA .

You should see it when the horse with the buggy behind pulls up to the gas pumps.  That gets the people excited.

I just realized that is an older pichure cause we got some of them new fangled crossin blinkers now.  But we still got dogs pulling bikes and horses.

Bill your post brought a smile to my face.  My wife and I went to grad school at BU and rode the Green Line occasionally.  And my dad for several years was a driver and supervisor for the MBTA on this line.  Lot of memories!
