Awesome pictures. I was there a month ago. I had a very nice time. I wish NS would get the trees and brush cut back on the curve. I somehow stumbled into Cresson after leaving Gallitzin. Cresson has a nice viewing area across the tracks from a fueling facility. Wanted to find the Cassandra crossing but ran out of time and didn't know how to get there from Cresson. Altoona is a nice place to visit. Had an awesome steak at a new place(cant remember the name). I will be going back before winter hits. I am 5 hrs away in NE Ohio. By the way..... I would have thought NS would not be running on the holiday.

"NS would not be running on the holiday"  REALLY?  Some businesses may have the day off, but certainly NOT the railroads!  Christmas day included.

You obviously have not worked in the railroad industry in the last 10 or 15 years. Except for extremely high priority freight, most railroads now try to give their T&E Service employees time off for national holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas.

That's nice that they try.  But the NS main that I'm close to was running pretty heavy yesterday, AND last Christmas.

My plant was also running yesterday, and NS made the scheduled switch of railcars to our siding.
