Lionel Prewar 2755 Metal Sunoco Single Dome Tank Car

 

That looks to me like the sheet metal tank and plastic dome of the more common 2555/2755/2855 which use the same frame as the 2955.

 

Further, that is the postwar version of that frame with filled in end platforms, no steps and no placards.  The true prewar and early postwar frames have triangular cutouts on the ends with added steps and placards.  You can see those details in the photo above of a prewar 2755.

It's easy for anyone to repaint a common tank car and add decals from one of the more hard to find versions.
