Still love all the extraneous  material around the layout Patrick.    It really gives an added dimension to your model railroad layout.

Thank you Dallas!  As a kid ( and adult ) it was the "extraneous" material I saw beside the tracks that made an impression on me.  To me modeling those extraneous things adds a special flavor to most any scene.  I consider those "extraneous' materials to be the "secret sauce" when modeling a scene.

OK  Patrick........." secret sauce "  ? " special flavor " ? ................I'm assuming ( 🙃 ) there is going to be a cooking section in your MODEL RAILROOAD PHOTO AND VIDEO STORYBOOK .  😉

FOR TODAY:   Short line railroads Maryland and Pennsylvania SW1 and Patapsco and Back Rivers VO1000 enter and exit East Tunnel in grand style. Although these two  prototype roads once served the Baltimore area,  their tracks and and therefore their locomotives would not have come close to one another, for two roads trackage were on opposite ends of the city however, on the Free State Junction Railroad these roads meeting one another is a common occurrence.   Long live these short lines!!  IMG_3861

The Patsburg area continues to keep industry alive. 😉  Nice photo capture of the activity.

I might have missed this Patrick , but what is the population of Patsburg ?  🤔

Thanks Dallas!   Actually the censuses missed Patsburg in 2020 so the population was never counted.  Sorry but I don't have an accurate answer to your question .. lol !

Well, Mark, the idea came from a Halloween/fall layout idea from an article in OGR by Jim Policastro, which he modified in a later issue into a beautiful Christmas layout. I was taking small layouts to spelling bees (!) run by a friend of mine at local schools which also celebrated railroading in this part of PA.

I'm liking this scene Patrick.

This is a really good close up with the tunnel.

Where did you find the "old" push mower?  That is similar to the one that I almost got my thumb cut off in when I was four-years old!

Ron

I think it came with a Menards Hardware building. I used to cut my grandmas grass with one, she wouldn't let us use a power mower. Though that was 50 years ago it would be child abuse now LOL.

You've got to watch those packing meters! This Model A is getting to towed away.

Keep those trains running!

Jeff, nice scene! I like the Department 56 building, they look great. Funny how the Lemax and Department 56 buildings are close to semi scale, but their figures are gigantic. The tow truck is very nice, I wouldn't mind having one of those! The '55 or '56 pink Cadillac Coupe (I'm all Shook Up) is a nice touch, except Elvis' 56 had a cream colored roof and it was a Sedan (Land Yacht). Is that Priscilla getting ready to leave? ;-) I think Elvis bought a new pink Cadillac every year, and the 55 and 56 were probably most well known.

Thanks for sharing your layout moment.

Scott

FOR TODAY:  MOW crew is busy.  Foreman Jack Spratt, standing far left on the flat car with chin in hand, is working out a strategy for today's projects.   Willy Dee helps keep ties on the forklift.  J.D. Barrister, standing next to the pickup truck, thinks his pickup can't haul many more ties or else the rear tires will blow out.   One thing for sure; whatever the task Jack Spratt has in store, these fellers will gitter done!   Just another day on the railroad.IMG_2128

Great pictures y’all!  “The old lonesome Chessie hopper.”Set out last night, in the little trans load yard.  As “Fred” goes by on the CSX local she was once apart of.

Great picture, love the weathering, fence, utility poles, ect, ect. I see the back of a caboose and a ETD you must model mid to late 90s. Artie's right on everythings perfect.

Really COOL ( brrrrr ) Patrick.

Nicely done sir.  Makes one feel like getting in the Spirit at this time of year .     ( also a little guilty that I haven't been able to get out to buy my Lady any gifts yet 😶 )

OK  Patrick ,  big question , what did you use for ' snow ' .  It looks perfect. 👌

Dallas, Sorry I missed your shop! Very cool! I really like the hoist!

You dont have to be sorry . That engine house isn't done yet Mike but I've been feeling guilty about not posting photos on the forum ........just enjoying the heck out of everyone else's. 😶

The hoist came with the RK Dual Stall Enjine Shed  (   it was featured in my reply as surviving the "TERRIBLE EARTHQUAKE LEVELS BUILDINGS AT TWIN BRIDGES RAILYARD  "😁🤣😅😄😉   that I  shortened with my ' magic saw '  .   The hoist came with some heavy thread but I installed the small chain and dabbed some yellow and silver paint on it.

Keep busy and have fun Mike. 🤗

Morning guys, great photos by all! I handed out alot of likes as I dont have alot of time this morning. But wanted you all to know I was looking!

Fendermain, wonderful night shot!

Farmer John, that is one heck of a mining operation! Then nice thing besides it being AMAZING is that you dont have to worry about dusting it!
