General Motors is acquiring Strobe, a company with a technology called Lidar which measures the distance to an approaching object. Great for smart cars. I used this to automate a passenger station which measures and responds in steps to an approaching passenger train. Was featured in LCCA magazine December 2016. A video of this in action is on the LCCA website and can be viewed by non-members.
