@Alentown posted:Hey guys: With the help of a friend of ATMA and the OGR Forum, we have a solution. And right on the Fairgrounds property. The people who own the historic Ritz Barbeque will gladly open for us at 7 a.m......and be ready with hot coffee and griddle to take our orders immediately. They are very happy to have us.
The https://www.ritzbarbecue.com/ is at the eastern end of the Fairgrounds lot. Just put it, or the Allentown Farmers Market in your GPS; or 1700 Chew Street, Allentown should do it.
Note: Ted will have the 'early admission' tickets for us. $10.00.
So, let's start the list of those who are 'planning' to join us. There is no obligation, but an approximate list will help The Ritz in planning their staff.

I should be there, but if I bring a few people will they be able to get early admission tickets? I have mine already, but they don't as they aren't 100% positive they can make it.
Thanks!

They may have to wait Sean. If I recall I think early admission is an hour before opening?

Chuck always has early admission tickets with him for us to purchase.
Also, I'm in for breakfast.

There you go @Sean's Train Depot, there's your answer. I kind of thought that someone would, but I've only ever been once and I got my tickets for that one show for my local train store.

Did I hear right, they open at 7:00?

Yes, John. The owner is happy to have us, and will be ready with coffee and take orders at 7 a.m. The Ritz holds a nostalgic feel in Allentown, kind of like Mel's Diner of movie (and MTH) lore. Feel free to bring your 57 Chevy.
I’m a little late for the dance, but I will be there at the Ritz barbecue.
and I don’t have to Rush my breakfast to wait online for the 8 o’clock opening either. Chuck thank you so much for your efforts in finding a place this is great.

Well, I once owned a '56 Chevy, but I'm afraid it's long since turned to dust. Always loved the '57, just never owned one.
Just got the green light as long as a certain little one doesn't show up before then.

Chuck,
I’m going on Sunday with a friend who also is a NY Jets fan like you. I’d rather be at Allentown than watch the Jets self- destruct.
Are you going to be at the show on Sunday?
Ted. I'm likely to be there Sunday, too, but grandpa duties might get in the way. (I'll 'tape' the Jets. lol)
I got a call this afternoon from the owner of The Ritz. She is excited to help us out, even on short notice. It looks, so far, like we'll have a nice turnout!

We certainly want to make a good impression for our first time with them dealing with the train nuts!
Just a reminder that the OGR Forum Breakfast is open to all....including guests you might like to have join us. The Ritz is opening early just to accommodate us. And yes, gunrunnerjohn, let's express our appreciation to the folks at this Allentown institution.

Which is certainly better than average.
Im going to try and make the breakfast and would also need 2 tickets.
Have a great time.......wish I could be there.....

Hope you guys are having a great time. Soon I'll be heading to my LTS. Got to hook up with my friend before going though.
Mighty tasty breakfast this morning, and the waitress was a riot. Thanks Chuck, for putting it all together.
Finished my tour of the show, and back home on the couch with my dog. My back won’t let me stay at the show as long as I would like. Still, had a real good day. Train Doctor fixed up my little pre-war steamer, and they are taking my aluminum observation car back to the shop. My main objective was to find some KLCC Pennsy Streamliners, and I found two for a great price. Just need three more. Also found some diecast cars, just for fun. I was really missing Allentown.
The folks at the Ritz were great, and they actually opened considerably before 7:00, we had plenty of time to make the show.
Chuck:
Had a great time at the Ritz. 50's music in background, easy access to Train Show and a great bunch of guys...food was good too!
Thank you for setting this up.
Let's keep this going for February 2022.
Walter M. Matuch
I had a great time as well - the new spot was great!
