The engine. Their email showed the Mohawk with a big NEW splotch on the picture. And I immediately thought, hey it must be out. But who knows? I checked their website and it still said special order.
Is there provision for doubleheading?

OK, for those of you who have purchased this new model, what are your thoughts on it? How is the sound? Smoke? Running characteristics?
I can only find one short video showing it running. But that was just a tease for me. Does anyone know if there is another video showing this model in operation?

Although not specifically mentioned in the catalog (or online specs either), the Lionel product video for the Mohawk mentions that a fixed-coupler is included for folks who would like to double-head these new Legacy locomotives. 
So buy the stand-alone model now and grab the set in a few months, and you'll be good to go.
